"We Must Do More..."

It is well known, that children from orphanages differ from their peers that were natured in family atmosphere. Such preconditions are sensitive emotional lack, which greatly influence their character traits and social behavior. They are very touchy, sensitive, unsociable and distant from others. Orphans have predominantly been objects of ridicule, rejection, charity and pity in most cultures and times. Such attitudes to orphans are deeply rooted in historical and social contexts. The whole history of humanity demonstrates a shameful trade of unequal and often barbaric treatment of the orphans by society.

Every child is an individual and needs care, understanding and love. Children from orphanages, more than anyone else, need support and care. Isolation estranges those children not only territorially, but also psychologically. The society should understand that with helping each other they will improve their lives and have more chances for a better future.

Currently in Armenia there are 12 orphanages and most of them especially the ones situated in regions are in a very miserable state. We strongly believe that there is a huge need of helping the orphanages directly and as well building communication with both local and international organizations to support the orphanages.

"Youth For Achievements" (YFA) Educational NGO has implemented various educational projects throughout past 12 years, the main targets of which are secondary schools and higher educational institutions. This time YFA is up to implementing "We Must Do More…" project. The overall goal of the project is to improve the life of children living in orphanages, and youth in general through publicizing the orphanage conditions and needs via internet. We aim at improving lives of the children living in the orphanages and thus encourage them to continue fighting for better life and never give up their dreams to achieve their goals in life. The project will target orphanages from Shirak and Lori regions;

"House of Children" and "Hope" orphanages from Gyumri and Vanadzor orphanage.

During implementation of the Project, the following specific objectives are being achieved:

• Website creation containing information and photos of Shirak and Lori regions orphanages.
• Website presentation, the purpose of which is to publicize the Project and its activities as well as disseminate information about the website.
• Contact establishment with different individuals/organizations for the support of the orphanages.

We strongly believe that successful implementation of the Project greatly contributes to the raise of awareness of our orphanages and breaks a line between them and social life of the society.

Our youth is the future of our country, and we should spare no efforts in fostering their productive growth and contributing to improve the environment and the state they live in.
