Vanadzor Orphanage
Orphanage in pictures
Vanadzor orphanage was founded in 1997. The main objectives of the orphanage are to take care of children aged under 18, to support them and protect their rights, to provide them with food, clothing, etc.
Teachers and nurses of the orphanage conduct different trainings with children based on their physical and mental abilities.
Currently the orphanage has 119 children in the orphanage, 61 girls and 58 boys. According to their family status there are 6 parentless children, 10 children from needy families, 94 children that are abandoned by their parents, 1 child with physical disability and 8 homeless children.
The main reasons for children to appear in the orphanage are degradation of families, parents being abroad, difficult social conditions and absence of home.
The orphans at certain age start attending Vanadzor #3 special and #28 secondary schools. After graduating the Secondary School many of them enter Higher Education Institutions.
Even though the administration and the staff of the orphanage do everything possible to provide the orphans with the positive atmosphere the orphanage has many problems that need solution.
The high priority needs of the orphanage are
- Build a central water-pipe.
- Create workshops.
- Provide workshops with necessary equipment.
Our youth is the future of our country, and we should spare no efforts in fostering their productive growth and contributing to improve the environment and the state they live in.
